The Commerce City Running with the Buffalo 5K Run/Walk is an event for the entire family. Everyone values Health and Wellness; and we work hard to be in good health so we can enjoy our families and give back to our community. The Commerce City one Community Board was formed and funded through the Colorado Trust to foment integration among new immigrants in Commerce City.

The Running with the Buffalo 5k Run/Walk is a the first of many events focused towards promoting health and wellness for residents in Commerce City and their neighbors throughout the Denver Metro area and the entire State of Colorado. So! Lace up, Run or Walk… Change up your routine, visit the Rocky Mountain National Arsenal Wildlife Refuge and join in with family and friends in this great community event. Proceeds will benefit the One Community Board immigrant integration programs.

After the race join us for a fantastic expo with free giveaways and information for the entire family.

The Commerce City Prairie Gateway Trail on the Rocky Mountain National Arsenal Wildlife Refuge is 10 minutes from downtown Denver and 30 minutes from the Rocky Mountain foothills.
The Prairie Gateway Trail is located in Commerce City, Colorado, across from the Commerce City Civic Center (7887 East 60 th Avenue, Commerce City, CO, 80022). To get to the Prairie Gateway Trail from downtown Denver, take I-25 north to I-70 east. Exit at Quebec Parkway and head north. Turn left on East 64 th Avenue and drive east for a quarter mile. The parking lot and Expo will be on your left.

From the north, take CO Highway 2 south to Quebec Parkway, turn left onto Quebec Parkway and drive south to East 64 th Avenue. Follow above directions.

Parking will be at the Commerce City Civic Center: 7887 East 60 th Avenue, Commerce City, CO, 80022

Online Registration - $25 (closes at noon on October 7th)

Race day registration - $30 (opens at 7:00 AM at the start)

The race will start at the west parking lot of the Commerce City Civic Center; will go around the south and east sides of the civic center the west along Prairie Parkway (64th Avenue) turning north to join the Prairie Gateway Trail at Trenton Street. Then following the Prairie Gateway Trail clockwise to the west, north then east and back south then turning left to end at the west parking lot of the Commerce City Civic Center.
